Mathews snags building by Midtown’s Elliston 23 apartments

A group of investors, led by Nashville developer The Mathews Co., has paid $7.48 million for a mixed-use building in a fast-changing part of Midtown.

The three-story building, at 2214 Elliston Place, is one block from the high-end Elliston 23 apartment complex — and also another apartment tower proposed in January.

California investors buy Gulch building

The Gulch building home to the newly opened Chauhan Ale & Masala House has new owners.

The Tennessean reports that California-based Martin and Martin Properties LLC paid $4.3 million for the building and a nearby parking lot.

Winter weather doesn’t dampen February home sales

Despite the unsettled meteorological situation, the Nashville area posted its best February home sales since 2007.

There were 2,091 home closings in February, according to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, a jump of 12.6 percent from the same month last year. Year-to-date, closings are up 12.7 percent.

Planning Department opposes rezoning to allow 12South project

The Metro Planning Department staff is recommending disapproval of a requested rezoning to allow an apartment building proposed for 12South.

With the recommendation, Bristol Development Group plans to regroup with its project, currently a four-story 164-unit apartment building to be called Bristol 12 South.

CoreLogic: January home prices up 6.8% from year ago

Housing market research firm CoreLogic says Nashville-area home prices were up 6.8 percent in January from a year earlier. That’s down 0.9 percentage points from October and 1.3 points from July. Excluding distressed sales, the year-over-year price gain was 5.3 percent, also down almost point from three months earlier.
