Nashville area home prices continue to hover around a record high set this summer, reflecting a tight inventory.

In August, the median price of single-family home was $235,000, up from $219,000 a year ago, according to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors.

For a fourth consecutive month, the region also posted a double-digit increase in home sales. Last month, there were 3,770 home closings, up 16.7 percent from August last year and more than the total home sales for each full year from 2008 to 2011.
