If you’ve ever driven in Nashville, you likely know the place where Broadway and West End Avenue fork, featuring a big billboard for Country Music Television and the business Import Auto Maintenance.

Directly across West End is the idle 4-acre site where developer Alex Palmerkeeps pursuing a development called West End Summit. Within two blocks, almost 1,200 apartment units are under construction, including some in a 25-story tower.

Here’s the news: Two branches of the Trabue family owned equal shares of the half-acre, triangle-shaped land where Broadway and West End split, home to the auto business.

That was the case up until Oct. 14, when one branch paid $4.05 million for the other branch’s 50 percent stake, according to a newly filed property deed. Truxton Trust financed the purchase, at a price that points to Midtown’s surging property values, especially with the coveted visibility and traffic this particular property enjoys. You can be sure there are architects and developers out there who have thought about the potential for a triangle-shaped building like New York City’s iconic Flatiron Building.
